I started my hunting experience when I was 8 years old. It consisted of carrying an old Stevens single shot .410 without a cartridge in the chamber. I would follow my older brother and uncle,as my father died when I was 6, through the gumbo of the Missouri boot heel hunting cottontails and swamp rabbits. Every Time there was wild game to shoot they told me to react as if the gun was loaded. That's how they taught me gun and hunting safety. I brought my oldest son up the same way. For 35 years we would make the annual trip to the Ozark foothills in southern Carter county Missouri for Whitetail Deer and Turkey season. In 2006 the good lord seen fit to give me a chance to buy property in central Ripley county Missouri. This has given me the ability to stay in the woods of the Ozark foothills almost daily and refine and sharpen my hunting skills. This is one of the reasons I can share this experience with you. I now have two young boys,5 and 7,they are going to have it better than the first generation because they will be able to experience first hand the habits of wildlife year round. When you live in the back yard of wildlife it gives you the opportunity to really learn how they live. By this I mean how they eat, sleep, move, and breed and how they get there. Shoot me an e-mail and start your hunting adventure.
Our mission at MHP is to get family's to experience the great outdoors. We feel if we can get young people and their family's involved in hunting we can keep that heritage alive and they can pass it along to the next generation.
